"Departure" features the work of seven MFA graduate students from Alfred University, reflecting on the concept of leaving behind what was once familiar. As we settle into new spaces and experiences, we are reminded of the lives, memories, and places we've departed from. This exhibition explores themes of departure as it manifests in various forms—grief, nostalgia, homesickness, and even death—while also highlighting the beauty of transformation inherent in these experiences. Through these works, we contemplate the inevitable changes we encounter as we grow and embrace new journeys.
