NYS Council on the Arts awards IEA $20,000 grant

The Institute for Electronic Arts (IEA) at Alfred University has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

Alfred University was among more than 2,000 recipients—including nearly 1,500 non-profits—of NYSCA fiscal year 2025 grants totaling approximately $62 million. The NYSCA grant funding awarded the IEA at Alfred University will be used to support the IEA residency and research program.

“Our visiting artists-in-residence are supported technically and financially, utilizing facilities and spaces often unobtainable if not enrolled in a university setting,” said Myles Calvert, IEA director. “These funds help us sustain a rotating roster of exceptional artists while also staying committed to technological expansion in both print—traditional and digital—and new media (video, sound, AI) production.”
