IEA Director Myles Calvert attends IAPA event in China
Myles Calvert, Director of Alfred University's Institute for Electronic Arts (IEA), School of Art & Design, New York State College of Ceramics, recently received an invitation to attend the International Academic Printmakers Alliance (IAPA) event hosted at the Xi’an Academy of Art in China and coinciding with the institution’s 75th anniversary.
The gathering showcased the talents of 20 distinguished faculty members and directors from around the globe. During the event, Calvert delivered a lecture on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in printmaking, earning him a prestigious three-year Visiting Professor award.
This remarkable opportunity not only strengthens ties between the IEA and numerous other institutions but also paves the way for future collaborations, including exhibition planning, student exchanges, and the establishment of international relationships. Planning has already commenced for events in 2025 as a direct result of these fruitful partnerships.
