Zach Hamm, Technical Director and Clinical Associate Professor of Theatre Design, awarded Excellence in Arts Education honor
Zachary Hamm, Alfred University Technical Director and Clinical Associate Professor of Theatre Design, recently was honored with the Excellence in Arts Education Award offered by the Tri-County Arts Council.
The Council presents the annual award to honor arts educators from Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. The award recognizes the work of arts educators in providing instruction that helps to guide the next generation of artists in our region and cultivates lifelong supporters of the arts.
Hamm joined Alfred University with an MFA in Technical Theater Production from the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill. He serves as technical director for the Performing Arts Division and the Miller Performing Arts Center at Alfred University.
He also teaches in the Performance Design and Technology program. Annually, the program supports two dance productions, three theatre productions and over ten music events in the Miller Performing Arts Center.
