Alfred University appoints Professor Pauline Stamp of Hartwick College Dean of the College of Business
Professor Pauline Stamp of Hartwick College has been appointed Dean of Alfred University’s College of Business, Alfred University Provost and Chief Operating Officer Beth Ann Dobie announced today. Her appointment becomes effective July 1, 2024.
“We are thrilled that Pauline Stamp is joining us,” Alfred University Provost and Chief Operating Officer Beth Ann Dobie said. “Her focus is on students and on building effective teams. Pauline brings a breadth of experience that will enhance our intersections. Her level of energy will inspire us all to new heights!”
At Hartwick College, Stamp has served for nine years as Division Chair of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Associate Professor of the Business Administration and Accounting Department. Her research has been focused on teaching professionalism to Gen Z students; “Queen Bees” in the College classroom; and the career-focused curriculum in a liberal arts college. She has published articles in “The Journal of the Academy of Business Education” and the “Organizational Management Journal.”
Additionally, Stamp brings extensive business experience to her new position, having held positions with numerous private concerns including Guthrie Healthcare System, in Sayre, PA, where she served as Senior Vice President, Education and Research; and as President, Mansfield University/Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing and Allied Health Systems.
On a more personal level, Stamp is well-acquainted with Alfred University. She is the mother of alumna Samantha Stamp ’18, who rode on Alfred University’s equestrian team, and spent numerous time on the Alfred University campus.
“Alfred University and Hartwick College are similar in many ways,” she says. “I would often talk to Samantha’s professors about the similarities, but there are also core differences, and those are why Alfred University continues to succeed and prosper. Alfred University feels like a great fit for me.”
Stamp received her PhD in Human and Organizational Systems in 1997 from Fielding University, in Santa Barbara, CA, after receiving her MS in Organization Behavior from Fielding University and her M. Ed from Boston University.
In addition to teaching at Hartwick College, she has served also on the faculties of SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Delhi.
