Alfred University faculty Daisy Wu completes musical arts residency at IUP
Zhongbei "Daisy" Wu, clinical professor of music and language at Alfred University, completed a two-day musical arts residency at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Oct. 12 and 13.
During the residency, Wu performed a solo concert on the guzheng, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument. The concert was presented at IUP’s Gorrell Hall on Oct. 12. On Oct. 13, she presented a lecture, “East Meets West: Guzheng in America,” and gave a hands-on learning guzheng workshop.
Wu was invited to IUP for the residency by Curtis Scheib, dean of the IUP College of Arts and Humanities, and Shijuan Liu, Chinese language professor at IUP.
