Art History Associate Professor Meghen Jones joins panel, “Transcendent Clay / Kondo: A Century of Japanese Ceramic Art"
Meghen Jones, Alfred University Associate Professor of Art History in the School of Art and Design, spoke recently in a panel discussion hosted by the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami, on the occasion of the traveling exhibition “Transcendent Clay / Kondo: A Century of Japanese Ceramic Art."
Jones joined curator and writer Glenn Adamson and University of Miami ceramics professor James Herring on the panel, addressing topics of history, artistic ideation, and processes related to the Kondō family's ceramics.
Jones focused on how the themes of Kyoto, Buddhism, and modernism interweave throughout the Kondō oeuvre.
