Alfred University professor Sundaram joins editorial team at Ultrafast Science

S.K. Sundaram, Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Alfred University, has been named to the editorial team at Ultrafast Science, a high-profile journal focused on the emerging field of ultrafast science and technology.

Sundaram has been appointed an associate editor for the journal, which publishes high-quality original research articles, letters and reviews, which have high novelty and high technical quality in cutting-edge and emerging topics in ultrafast science with broad interest from scientific communities.

The U.S. Department of Energy defines ultrafast science as “is the study of processes in atoms, molecules, or materials that occur in millionths of a billionth of a second or faster. This timescale is called femtoseconds, or 10-15 seconds. With ultrafast science, researchers use short pulses of photons, electrons, and ions to probe matter.”

As associate editor, Sundaram will submit high-quality papers to the journal, actively cite the papers from the journal when published in other high-level journals, and actively introduce the journal when participating in international and domestic conferences.
